The negative reviews I just read may be spot on, but I only use this machine to make a double-shot of espresso every morning. The machine has worked flawlessly for years and it's a reliable part of my morning routine. The machine itself is nice to look at and cleans up easily. Of course, it costs quite a bit, but I've had my machine for over three years now and I use it every day, so if you spread the cost out over 3-5 years (hopefully more!), then it's truly pennies per day instead of a day.

Product Description

The X1 Trio Espresso machine consistently brews excellent coffee, regardless of the user's experience and ability. The X1Trio machine uses pods only. The machine was designed by Luca Trazzi. The Body is made of steel. The finish is a baked-on powder coat epoxy. The 18 bar pump ensures enough pressure for the perfect extraction. The Trio head allows for a short, medium or long espresso using the same handle. Like the other Francis Francis! machines, the boiler is brass, the brewing head is chrome-plated brass, and the dual electronic thermostats control the coffee temperature and steam temperature. Easily identifiable symbols, lights and sounds makes this machine user friendly.

Great little machine - T. Keller - San Francisco, CA
This is a great little espresso machine. I've had mine since 2004 or 2005 with no problems. It's both solid and good-looking (everyone comments on it), and makes high quality espresso. The steamer works fine from my experience, although I only use it nowadays for espresso. I just saw the newer Francis Francis models yesterday in the store, but I will keep using this great little machine until one of us expires...
